Spotlight: Lemon Drop Dress and Tunic Pattern

AMH tunic

Have you thought about tackling knits, but weren't sure where to start? We're in love with this classic Anna Maria Horner pattern and used her knits in our recent store sample.

AMH Lemon Drop TunicThe pattern is designed to be used with light- or medium-weight jersey knits. We have a wide selection of them, both online and in-store.

Using two different fabrics, the pattern offers multiple sleeve lengths and the option of adding a flounce to create a  dress or keep it shorter for a tunic.

The pattern's flexibility makes it a great staple for your pattern stash. Make it in solids or prints, or even mix the two.

The pattern includes:
Toddler sizes: 18 mos to 4 T
Girls sizes: 5/6 to 11/12
Women's sizes: XS to XL

You can see our selection of fashion knits here.

Make sure you grab both ballpoint machine needles and a twin ballpoint needle to make your stitching on knits simple and looking nice.

We used Anna Maria Horner's Mary Thistle in Saffron, Tangle in Rust, Family Unit in Rust and Cracking Codes in Turtle for our samples.

If you're local, come on by and see the sample top in-person. You're going to be amazed how quick and easy the Lemon Drop Tunic/Dress is to make.  Trudy, Fabric Depot's owner, sewed up her own version in just one evening!

Trudy used Chora Winds and Utopia Orni knits from Art Gallery Fabrics.

Love the tunic, need to rethink sewing with knits. You make it sound easy.
