Sewing & Stitchery Expo
The Sewing & Stitchery Expo in Puyallup, WA is one of the only shows that celebrates quilting, hand sewing and garment-making all in the same place! Most of us don't stick to one area of sewing, which makes this event perfect. Two members of our team went to Puyallup to take classes and reported back to the store with all they learned and experienced.
We had a great time in Puyallup learning valuable techniques from experts such as Nancy Zieman, Eleanor Burns and Tula Pink.
Nancy Zieman shared her techniques and favorite tools to change a basic quilt pattern into something fresh and new in her Amazing Quilt Makeover class. Modern quilting is easy! Check out both templates online, the Dresden Plate template and Lonestar template.
Eleanor Burns had us laughing from beginning to end of her "striptease" class - all about quilting with fabric strips. Her Quilt-In-A-Day products are available in our store and online here!
One of the most informative classes was from Tula Pink. This gal knows her stuff! From quilting, which she's been doing for over 20 years, to drawing and designing, Tula knows the world of fabric from beginning to end. She shared her passion for quilting and how her designs are influenced by the craft, which makes sewing with her fabrics very easy. We loved learning from her and meeting her in person! Her designs are a true reflection of her colorful personality!

After long days of filling our minds with all things sewing, what did we do to relax at the end of it all? Quilt in our hotel room, of course!
We had a wonderful time at the Sewing and Stitchery Expo and can't wait for next year! Stay tuned for more information on Tula Pink's newest collection, Fox Field, coming to our store soon!
