Quilt Market: Day One
Four members of our team headed to Pittsburgh this week to represent our store at Spring Quilt Market. They will be sharing insight this week on some of their favorite fabrics and designers.
Holly (Cotton Buyer):
"The highlight of the day was the Premiere Schoolhouse by Cotton + Steel. I have been anticipating this collection ever since I caught wind of it, and now I can't wait to bring it into the store!"
Check out Cotton + Steel's video on the fabric printing process in Japan.
Rebekah (Social Media):
"Violet Craft's newest collection, Brambleberry Ridge from Michael Miller is amazing. It has been a fun journey to see the progression of this collection as I've followed bits and pieces of the development through her Instagram. It is also really fun to see her pop into the store and get little updates during her fabric shopping trips! Seeing everything finished at Schoolhouse was so great - I can't wait to get my hands on those metallic birds!"
Elise (E-commerce Buyer)
"I'm excited for Jennifer Sampou's newest collection, Color-Full. It inspires me that her creative process to make this collection begins with painting with acrylics! Her collection Shimmer is in-store and online now! "
Karen (Visual Merchandiser)
"Wonders with Wool. We saw wool everywhere! There's definitely a resurgence in using wool in so many applications. Inviting to quilt, decorate and wearable art."
We finished our day with a late arrival to Sample Spree. Although some of the booths were empty when we arrived (Cotton + Steel and Fig Tree Quilts), we were able to chat with many of our vendors and meet a handful of designers.
Day one was a great day! We look forward to today and Saturday when all the booths are open!
