A Sweet Snack and a Good Read

Summer is an extra special season. We allow ourselves a few more breaks and a little more free time. Sometimes, this me-time sits right in the middle of the day. The perfect time to drink that second (or third) cup of coffee, have a sweet treat - french macarons - and enjoy a beautiful quilting book. Because, lets be honest, if my quiet time doesn't involve sewing, it involves reading about sewing. And this book hit the spot. Elizabeth Hartman's book Modern Patchwork is written and photographed to perfection, with detailed descriptions and thorough instructions that take you "beyond the basics" of quilting.

Modern Patchwork is available here. And if you can't get enough of Elizabeth you can read her charming blog Oh, Fransson!

Red & white napkin is available here - 1/2 yard will do it!

French macaron recipe from none other than Martha Stewart here - they are unreal!

We hope you get to relax a bit this Summer!
