Introducing, Holly, Fabric Depot’s Cotton Buyer!
Now that Holly has been buying fabric for a few months, we feel it is high time to introduce her to everyone! Holly is an extremely talented individual that has made our team even stronger. She knows just what fabrics to bring to the store to make it beautiful.
We have asked her to give us some insight on Fabric Depot’s trip to Quilt Market in Houston, Texas! Here is what she had to say about her market adventure:
“Quilt Market is a great opportunity to catch all the amazing fabric vendors under one huge roof. It is inspiring to see the creativity exhibited in each of their booths, as it gives us plenty of ideas for merchandising within our store! It is also a perfect time to scope out new fabric vendors; you might be seeing new lines from new vendors soon!”
There were so many talented and amazing designers present at Quilt Market, and Holly ended up getting photos of four amazing designers: Heather Bailey, Janet Clare, Vanessa Christenson, and Denyse Schmidt.
Quilt Market means the fabric manufacturers are going all out when it comes to their booths. There were so many to see; below are some of Holly’s favorites.
Thanks for sharing with us, Holly! We can’t wait to bring these fabrics into the store! We will be sure to announce when these collections are here!
Quilt Market was a huge success! Until next spring!
Portland designer Mckenna Ryan combined her “True Nature” patterns to create this beautiful quilt. Mckenna lived in a small town in Montana for many years before moving the the Pacific Northwest. Her love of nature has inspired her to create quilts that reflect the beauty of the great outdoors.
Over the years we have enjoyed Mckenna’s patterns. Since her move to Portland she has visited us in the store a number of times; it is always a pleasure to see her around the store! Her talent of designing Hoffman Fabrics and life-like patterns have made Mckenna’s quilts especially unique.
Her patterns are sold both individually for wall hangings and together to create this quilt, measuring 66.5″ x 82.5″.
Check out her other designs and accessories on our website, also available in-store.
Another October has passed and November is here. We are celebrating this season of thankfulness with color, and not just any color – colors that comfort – chosen from the Michael Miller Cotton Couture collection. The super soft cotton washes up beautifully with vibrant colors, ready for a quilt or garment that will last all season and into the next.
We are thankful for colors that comfort and keep us warm inside and out. What are you thankful for?
All of these beautiful colors and more are waiting for you in-store & online.
